Take Which Doctor Who companion are you? (girls) today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.
You're Donna Noble!
Oi! Wotch it, Martian boy! The Doctor thinks he can spout all kinds of ridiculous technobabble and 'Last Time Lord Angst' at you just because he's from outer space, huh? Well, you're not having any of it! You've got a heart of gold and a will of iron, and you're a rather boggling combination of a romantic idealist and a staunch realist. But you never let logical paradoxes get to you; you prefer to shoehorn the universe into a little box of your own perception. More often than not, it fits... probably because the universe is too intimidated to argue!
And I must add: OH YES!

It has been brought to my attention that today is Towel Day, so...

This is the short article that started this tradition. It was posted three days after Douglas Adams' death in 2001.
" Towel Day: A Tribute to Douglas Adams
Monday May 14, 2001 06:00am PDT
Douglas Adams will be missed by his fans worldwide. So that all his fans everywhere can pay tribute to this genius, I propose that two weeks after his passing (May 25, 2001) be marked as "Towel Day". All Douglas Adams fans are encouraged to carry a towel with them for the day.
So long Douglas, and thanks for all the fish!

Bilingual post because it needs to be done that way.
I've spent almost the entire afternoon watching opening sequences from old cartoons, that I watched when I was a kid, on You Tube. I can say, without shame, that I remembered all the songs (every word of every song!) and that I shed some tears thinking about those days, when we would watch TV then we would go out to re-play those scenes or creating new adventures, becoming the fairy from a distant land, the robot who defeated aliens (oh robots from 80's Japanese cartoons, I miss you!), the princess and the hero. These days, children have lost this ability to be inventive, because to be able to re-play most of the cartoons out there, they only need a deck of cards or toys (which by the way are so expensive that it almost hurts to but them: 6 euros for 6 cards? WHAT?).
Oh, how I miss those beautiful cartoons. And, since from what I've read I'm not the only one, let's hope that public tv will make our wish come true and will bring those stories back on TV! *feels nostalgic* Under the cut some examples of the fine Italian art of producing beautiful opening sequences!

Hello there! My mid-term exams have finished and I'm satisfied with the results. How are you doing? I hope your lives proceed well :)
To celebrate my return, I post this meme stolen from
snowgrouse because it's got me curious.
Go to Wikipedia and type in your birthday (month and day). Then you write down 3 events, 3 births, 3 deaths and 3 holidays.
( 18 June )
Ah, I almost forgot. @
chloris67: Look what I've found in the mail this morning?

I'm now able to watch Blackpool (shame on me for doing it only now)and I'll definitely let you know what I think of it!
ETA: I forgot to put 3 holidays/recurrences!
Holidays
Autistic Pride Day
International Sushi Day (mmm... sushi...)
Saint Elizabeth of Schönau

It's snowing! IT'S MOTHERFUCKING SNOWING IN ROME! Last time it happened:1986. Taking a lot of pics... Talk to you later!
Blimey! How many days have passed from my last update? Too much, it would seem. So, first thing first: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know it comes really late, but these have been hectic days and all I could do on LJ was to comment. First Internet connection was down for two days, then, after New Year's Eve I got the mother of all colds (don't ask)and in the end my home was almost flooded during a storm. Really, sometimes RL is shit. :(
2009 has passed and with 2010 came the end of the 10th Doctor. I loved The End Of Time pt.2, even if it had plot holes bigger than I don't know what. The acting was brilliant, the slash even better than the first episode and I cried and bawled like a baby for the last 20 minutes. I know people say that those minutes were unneeded, but I liked how all the companions' stories were closed. About Matt Smith: well, I'll judge him after having seen at least one full episode with Eleven. Those 2 minutes are promising, let's hope for the best.
On a more slashier note: I love RTD's Gay Agenda. I really do, even if I hate the man most of the time. After the Wonderful Gem (aka "The Master is tantalizingly close to being his soul mate"), we had two episodes that were a slasher's heaven, with remembrance of frolicking in the red grass, cross-dressing, bondage, "you could be beautiful" scenes, Simm's tears and angsty Ten. Really, what more you could ask?
You could ask for the former show-runner to say something like this:"Because he loves him. Honestly, I think he does." when answering to the question:"Why doesn't the Master kill the Doctor?"
...
...
...
You don't believe me? Go read the interview in the new DWM because, people, it's true!
And I want to close this post on a shallow note. So I'll give you two pictures, one of present!David in Rex Is Not Your Lawyer (which I dearly hope will get picked by NBC) and one of past!David on the Christmas Invasion set. Thanks to
chloris67 for both those pictures!
( cut for shallowness )
Ah, I forgot to thank those of you who have sent me a Christmas card, they were lovely! I hope mine have arrived too. &hearts

I absolutely have to tell you this before I forget. In today news: MY SUBCONSCIOUS IS FINALLY CATCHING UP!
Last night I had a strange dream. I was with my family on a countryside trip. While my brother and cousin (who are 11 and 10 respectively) were playing, they picked up something shaped like a phallus. Suddenly arrived Ten with Simm!Master and Donna and the Doctor began to examine the object. When he was finally declaring that it was some timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly stuff, the Master suddenly said, and I swear to God it happened, "I'd know where to put that object, Doctor" all the time ogling Ten's arse! The Doctor and I went red with the suggestion, my family didn't understand because they don't talk English and my mother was watching me with a WTF expression.
So what does this dream tell you about my subconscious? That I'm a perv and I read way too much post-LOTTL fanfictions in which the Master doesn't die. It could also be that these last days had a role in shaping these dream, what with David and John gushing all over each other "David is my Doctor and I'm his Master" "John is fantastic and he is my BFF" and all that jazz.
These days have been brilliant also because I've convinced my own BFF to watch a few episodes (guess which ones?) with me and I explained to her the epic hate/love story that is this pairing. I even showed her my 3rd series box set with the guys on the cover. Do you know what she said:" They look good together" Fuck, the power of the Time Cock!
Lastly, thanks to
neuralclone for letting us know that one of the columnist of Canberra Times wrote down his list of the best TV characters of the decade. Do you know who was at first place? The Guv! The British version of course, played by the magnificent Philip Glenister ^^ The motivation:
1. Gene Hunt (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes) The corrupt, abrasive DCI is the coolest crime fighter of the decade. Obnoxious, for sure, but he was written with wit and charm, and played with astounding flair by Philip Glenister. Oh, and whatever his methods, he was always a good guy. Harvey Keitel played him reasonably well in the US version, but even he couldn't compete with Glenister for sheer prescence.

Okay, LJ is being a bitch right now.
Oh dear f-list, I'm having problems with receiving notifications of your posts. I've noticed that
acidpenguin46 and
kolosigma have updated their journals but I haven't received any notifications. Please girls, if your reading this post, could you kindly tell me if you've posted something as "private"?
chloris67 had her journal on "private" by default and I didn't receive notifications of her posts.
How do I know if I've received replies to my entries or comments? Of course I can't go in every comm and on every journal to check if someone has left something for me! *headdesk*
Why? Why? Why is this happening to me? :(
After this weekend full of DW slashy goodness, going out with my friends and Christmas decoration, I'm now feeling like shit... Grrrr!
Also, look at the "Music" box and see what song is stuck in my mind now! And it's
radioactivepiss 's fault, because she posted a D/M cracky video to this song here ! Beautiful video, but know I can't get it out of my head.
Oh what's a girl to do in this fucked up LiveJournal?

Okay! We all know that this year Christmas=Doctor Who. BBC seems to know that too, because they released the Christmas Drama trailer with some good DW bits and especially, two Master moments.

They also aired the first Doctor Who Christmas Ident. In this one, he comes face to face with reindeer. I hope Santa Ten will bring us beautiful present, such as good episodes with lots of eyecandy :)
I understand that this is only the first one and that more will come our way.

Just a quick little post, to let my dear f-list know that in the new Radio Times issue there's a beautiful article on "The End Of Time" and NuWho in general. In the article RTD says, and I'm quoting,
"It's personal for the Doctor. The Master is his enemy, his opposite and yet so tantalisingly close to being his soul mate".
What more can be said after this? Only one thing: "TANTALISINGLY CLOSE" MY ARSE! THEY ARE SOUL MATES. PERIOD.
Buuuut, if the author himself confirms, metaphorically speaking, that they are sooo doing it, who am I to argue?
Also in the article: Tennant singing Bond theme tune to Dalton, some Wilf!Love and a motherfucking beautiful picture of John Simm..
I sincerely suggest you to check it out!

It has come to my attention that today is November 23rd, which means: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DOCTOR WHO!
Once upon a time, in 1963 to be precise, BBC decided that some sci-fi was much needed and some splendid authors created the series that would become a legend. First came Hartnell with Susan the Granddaughter, then came Troughton (with the War Chief), then Pertwee (with the awesome Delgado as the first Master), then Baker, Davison (aka the Master's fucktoy), then Baker, McCoy, McGann, Eccleston and eventually David Tennant. Next year Matt Smith will be added to this list but for now we have ten amazing Doctors, everyone different and everyone with his own quirks. I sure hope that the day will come when we will wish "Happy 50th birthday" to this fantastic show, and the 60th and 70th, because as Sarah Jane said in "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" no one will ever forget the Doctor.
So Doctor, best wishes for the years to come and for now, here, this cake is for you!

It's Banoffee Pie, with lots of bananas! (and I really made it, people!)
